A Potentiometer is a commonly used variable resistor. Turning the knob, if supplied at 5V, the output voltage on the middle pin is between 0 and 5V. This value is sent through the middle pin of the pot.

Output: This module gives you back a value between 0 and 5V refering to the position of the middle pin (0 totally left 5V totally right). If attached to an Arduino's input which uses the TinkerKit Shield, values are between 0 and 1023.

Description: this module is made up of a linear potentiometer of 4.7 kOhm, a signal amplifier, a 3 pins standard connector TinkerKit, a green LED which indicates that the module is correctly powered and a yellow LED which luminosity depends on the potentiometer's position.
